The use of safer chemicals is becoming an essential priority for customers, regulators, brand owners, and consumers alike. However, the path to safer chemistry is not always straightforward — drop-in replacements often don’t exist.
That’s why one of our strategic innovation areas is dedicated to the design and development of safer alternatives that meet performance needs while advancing sustainability. Some exciting solutions emerging from this initiative include:

Each of these innovations not only enhances the safety of our products but also creates value for society by reducing exposure risks, improving environmental outcomes, and supporting our customers’ sustainability goals.
Taking Responsibility: Voluntary Phase-Out Program
Innovation alone isn’t enough. To truly drive change, we must also look back and take responsibility for the chemistry already in use.
In 2022, allnex launched the Voluntary Substance Phase-Out Program, proactively identifying and replacing substances of concern across our global product portfolio. Our goal is to enhance the safety and sustainability of our own operations, our customers’ processes, and the end users’ environments.
This program represents our commitment to continuous improvement, not because regulations require it, but because it’s the right thing to do for people and the planet.
